What is Rebar Coupler:

Rebar coupler is Mechanical Splicing System which is used in Construction for TMT Bar connection which was earlier to do lapping System,by using Rebar coupler Huge amount of steel can be saved.

Types Of Rebar Coupler:

Rebar coupler is mainly Divided into two parts.

a.Threaded type Rebar coupler
b.Non threaded Type Rebar Coupler

Threaded Type Rebar Coupler: Thredaed type Coupler is again divided into Parallel threaded and taper threded type Coupler.

Parallel threaded Rebar Coupler:

Parallel rebar coupler is divided into 1.Roll Tech (Roll thread ) Coupler
                                                                2.Cold Forged Rebar Coupler(Upsetting type-2)

Roll tech (Roll thread ) Coupler:

Roll thread jointing System is used as Type 1 Coupler which can give strenth of 625 MPA for FE 500 Rebar. in Roll thread system Threading is done by pressing ribs and Rebar by force of ROLLERS.This kind of system is very fast and quick can be done 700 bar is 8 hours.

Roll thread system is good for upto 32 mm Rebar.

Cold Forged System:

Cold Forging system involve two machine .1.Upsetting (Cold Forging Machine)
                                                                         2.Rebar cut thread Machine

Cold forging Machine: First we have to cut bar perpendicular by Grinder machine.

Then forging to be done on rebar so that 10 to 30 % bar diameter will increase.

by increasing Bar diameter cross section area of rebar will be maintained,no monimization of area.

This kind of system in noramlly comes under TYPE 2 as we can obtain 700 MPA in tensile pull up test with FE 500.

Rebar cut thread Machine is used to make direct threads on rebar .

This is most widely Used Coupler in todays era due to following things.

1.Can be used in Vertical and Horizonal in Coloumn and beam.
2.Less installation time required as Compare to taper type Coupler.
3.Less raw  material required to manufacture Rebar coupler.
4.Easy to Manufacture

Non threaded Rebar Coupler:This Kind of Rebar Coupler is uses very rearly due to some constraints.
